Phragmipedium Eric Young

Description

This cross is P. besseae ‘Legion’ x P. longifolium ‘Malkito’. ‘Legion is a branching form of P. besseae from the area around Paute, Ecuador, and ‘Malkito’ is dark flowered, branching form of P. longifolium from Panama. We have flowered a few of these to date and we are very impressed with the result.  We expect free branching forms of Eric Young from this cross and above average flowers.  This cross usually sells fast when we do shows. As of late February some of these are in low spike.  They are all blooming size plants in 4 inch pots. You can find information on growing Phragmipedium orchids on our culture page,
